EAA Chapter 1342, comprised entirely of UND students, is dedicated to preserving the future of
aviation and sharing the passion for flight with everyone in the Greater Grand Forks community.
Every year, our members have the privilege of organizing a “Young Eagles” Fly-In at a local airport.
The goal of the Young Eagles Program is to provide a meaningful flight experience to young people,
all free of charge. Participants generally range from the ages of 8-17, and are taken up on a short
flight where they experience the excitement and wonder of flight, often for the first time.
In addition to fundraising throughout the year for the Fly-In, EAA Chapter 1342 also organizes a
“Hog-Roast” BBQ, a visit to Winnipeg, and other events such as camping trips, paintball games, and
holiday parties, all of which allow students and people from the community to share their common
passion for aviation, to develop friendships, and to learn more about aviation. We invite you to
join us for good times and unforgettable adventures!
The Experimental Aircraft Association was founded in 1953 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by a small group of
individuals interested in not only flying, but in building their own airplanes. Now over 180,000 members
strong, EAA has since expanded its mission to encompass WWII-era fighter planes, aerobatic aircraft, ultralights,
helicopters, antiques, and everything in-between. Through activities ranging from a 10,000
aircraft, 500,000 attendee, week-long “AirVenture” in Oshkosh, to pilot workshops and youth programs,
EAA seeks to make aviation more accessible, more rewarding, and more enjoyable to all who share an
interest in aviation - not just pilots.
